Forager Brewery Presents:
Local Creators Night!
Join us for cocktails and small bites as we talk about the history and health benefits of shrubs and teach you how to incorporate these intriguing, naturally-fermented drinks into your diet.
Gardenaire creates exciting flavors that are hand-crafted using organically grown ingredients. Our series of classes at Forager will cover our shrubs (drinking vinegars), infused syrups, signature spice blends and loose-leaf teas and tisanes. Our first session will spotlight our shrubs.
During the 18th Century, enterprising Colonists developed a means of fermenting fruit using vinegar that allowed them to create a beverage that was both delicious and a means of much needed nutrition. Recently, shrubs have enjoyed a resurgence in popularity thanks to bartenders and chefs as many Americans are rediscovering the compelling flavor profiles of shrub drinks.
During this session, we will explore some of the many uses for shrubs.
This session will include:
- information on the history and health benefits of shrubs
- suggestions for using shrubs in cocktails
- suggestions for using shrubs in cooking
- samples of shrub recipes including our Fallen Apple Mule cocktail, Salad with Winter Pear Vinaigrette, Tuscan Bruschetta and more
